A Night with WNYC Moderated by Brian Lehrer
Wednesday, April 16, 2008; 6:30 to 8:00 pm
After eighty-four years of service from the Municipal Building, WNYC is moving to a new state-of-the-art production facility to meet the demands of new audiences and new media. As part of its ambitious plans, WNYC is launching a brand-new sound for public radio mornings. The Takeaway with John Hockenberry and Adaora Udoji, an innovative new national morning drive time program—produced with Public Radio International, the BBC World Service, The New York Times, and WGBH Boston—will pair a live, conversational tone with the solid journalism public radio is known for.
Meet the hosts of this exciting new program as they join with Kurt Andersen, host of Studio 360 from PRI and WNYC, and Brooke Gladstone, host of On the Media, for a lively discussion on the history of broadcast journalism, the current health of news, and how public media is carving out a unique role. Recent Peabody Award-winner Brian Lehrer will moderate and WNYC President and CEO Laura Walker will introduce the program.
